Strategy To Win

Win Big Lose Small
The 'win big pots and lose small pots' strategy is an aggressive and loose type of play. A strategy where you see more flops and bet into winning hands that build bigger pots. To win big and lose small you must be willing to let go of marginal hands quickly and bet into big hands from the start. Because this type of strategy will have you in more hands than others, your loose play will attract more players to call which results in bigger pots every time the table wants to see what the aggressive player is holding. In order to use this strategy correctly you need to release a weak hand and give up on building the pot size. Bet into the hands you hit post-flop and use the table's 'willingness not to believe you' in order to increase the amount of money in each pot you win. You may have a lose of many small pots that you gave up on, but with the ones you win, and bet into, will cover the small pot investment with extra profits to play more poker.
Poker Sense
Playing only AA does not work in the game of poker. Sure, you may win 80% of the AA hands you are dealt, but the number of hands you need to wait for those AA cards will erase your bankroll. It doesn't matter if you are playing in a cash game or tournament, you cannot wait for the best cards (you can't call yourself a poker player if you do). Betting too much or too often on marginal hands in hopes of driving everyone off a hand will not work consistently and you risk getting involved with more hands that put your chips at risk in order to see the hand through. Each poker strategy has a particular time or format of play that works best when combined with multiple presentations and bets. Winning hands, losing hands, and mucking hands should all be adjusted according to the type of pressure other players are using against each strategy you attempt to use. It is important to always be creative in the timing of strategy plays that need to go under the radar to work. Only be aggressive with weak hands when position or pot odds give you the green light to attempt a play on the pot.
Defense
The best poker defense is the fold. The fold is how good players get out of losing hands and save themselves for another hand when they are in control of the pot. Players who are able to defend against large losses not only give themselves a better chance of winning consistently, but they can remain in a poker game for a lot longer and for less money. After strategy and luck have run out, you need to get out and wait for the right moment (or a winning hand) that can get you in bigger pots. This will keep you winning more than the money you lose working the odds and strategies to win.
Remember: Don't try to fool everyone. It only takes one big loss to lose it all for the session. Inexperienced players who sit down at a poker table to win on personality, charm or threat will come to find a better poker player took all their money.
