SM: Has the band ever been in a fight? Over what?
MK: Yeah, we get into squabbles but we, surprisingly, I don’t know why, have somehow always managed to keep it intact. I think that we have enough mutual respect that we know when we are about to cross that line and that we should just hang back. Things will always be good once everything is settled so we just like to keep the peace. We don’t want it to get dysfunctional. The four of us have been together for eight years so we know each other pretty well and what pushes our buttons. It’s all about knowing when to walk away.

SM: What’s the best thing about performing?
MK: The best thing is when you have a crowd that is responsive and jumping up and down and is going crazy; like that is the best feeling in the world. Even when that is not there, messing with them is great. Just getting out there and playing is great, I can’t complain about it – it’s what I have always dreamed of doing.

SM: So you are living out your dream. That is good stuff. So what is next for the All American Rejects?
MK:  More touring throughout the year and then it starts up anew. We have a new single, ‘I Wanna,’ that is just starting to get rolling. So if that keeps rolling we will keep touring. If not, then Tyson and everyone are working on some new songs.
SM: He has a clothing line doesn’t he?
MK: Yeah. It’s called ‘Butter’ and it’s not dead. He’s keeping it alive but he has just been concentrating on other things lately. So more touring for us and maybe a new album; I wouldn’t expect it any earlier than the end of next year - possibly even further than that.

SM: We’re a men’s general interest magazine, what is something you would like men around the world to know? Any advice for them to live by?
MK: Yeah. That’s hard. Hmmm, you know, I dunno what it is but the other day I woke up and my hair was really long and I had a beard. I was just sick of it, so for some reason I shaved half my head and my beard. I think I look like twice the scumbag now but the girls are looking at me twice as much, so I dunno if it’s the shaved face or the shaved head. If you look like more of a scumbag, girls seem to bite.

SM: Any last words?
MK: No. Not really. Thanks for interviewing me it was fun.
